The winners of this year’s DoGooder Nonprofit Video Awards have been announced! And better yet, you and the world can watch them on the DoGooder Awards website! This year has been a fantastic contest with a vast field of amazing entries. The winners exemplify the power and potential of nonprofit video. Compelling cause video has a great role to play in advancing social change and creating real social impact. We invite you to join us in celebrating these winners.

Winning Best Small Organization is “Protect Our Defenders”, a gripping account of sexual assault in the military which raises consciousness about an often ignored reality facing our service-members, and the effort to ensure due process. “Solid Women”, winner of Best Medium Organization, presents a powerful, affirming story of 5 women succeeding in rebuilding their community after the 2010 Haiti earthquake, through the microloans facilitated through Fonkoze. "Adding Tomorrows", a moving story from Cystic Fibrosis Foundation of perseverance and dogged work ethic in the face of chronic illness, won Best Large Organization. And the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum won Best Video Storytelling with "Yes, That's My Father", a stirring narrative about history, memory, and personal closure.

The winners will be receiving $3,500 in prize grants as well as a game-changing suite of products from Cisco, along with registration to next year’s Nonprofit Technology Conference. Winners were featured on the homepage of YouTube on April 5th!

As a very special prize, The Case Foundation is recognizing and awarding grants to four organizations that exhibit fearless video: Invisible People’s “Robert”, Global Health Media Project’s “Story of Cholera”, The Joseph P. Kennedy Jr. Foundation for the Benefit of Persons with Intellectual Disabilities’ “Not Acceptable: R-word PSA”, and Partnership at Drugfree.org’s “I Thought I Knew: Real Stories of Drug Addiction and Recovery”. Go see them on the contest website and share these powerful examples of fearless nonprofit video with your friends and colleagues!

It’s an exciting moment for nonprofit video. Content distributed across the globe is creating a worldwide audience. We couldn't do it without you. Thanks for taking part!

The Nonprofit Video Awards is designed to recognize the creative and effective use of video to promote the work of the nonprofit sector in catalyzing social good. Cisco, the global leader in making innovation possible through network technology, will provide $14,000 in cash prizes and a similar amount worth of products to be divided amongst the winning organizations.  Winners must be members or signed up for the YouTube Nonprofit Program—a special program that YouTube designed to help nonprofits achieve their missions through video.  The four contest winners will be featured on the YouTube homepage and receive free registrations to the Nonprofit Technology Network's (NTEN) signature event, the Nonprofit Technology Conference.  Additionally, as a special addition to this year's contest, the Case Foundation will be awarding $10,000 in grants to those videos from this year's contest that communicated fearlessly and took risks to advance important messages or big ideas.

“We are thrilled to present the 6th year of the DoGooder Nonprofit Video Awards. With this contest, we get to highlight important nonprofit stories and help organizations engage with the YouTube audience,” said Michael Hoffman, CEO of See3 Communications.  “In addition, we are grateful to partner with great organizations such as Cisco, The Case Foundation and NTEN who have been instrumental in making hugely impactful media resources available to the nonprofit sector.”

Says Carlos Dominguez, Senior Vice-President at Cisco, “As a ‘tech nowist’, I enjoy seeing nonprofits leveraging technology and social media. They are learning what many businesses already know – which is that video is quickly moving to the Internet and becoming an everyday way of communicating.   I’m very excited Cisco is recognizing these innovative nonprofits and hosting the sixth annual DoGooder Nonprofit Video Awards.”

"Through the DoGooder Nonprofit Video awards, we have seen firsthand how compelling images and dynamic stories amplified by the social web can inspire and activate the masses" said Jean Case, CEO of the Case Foundation.  "The videos submitted bring the transformative work of 'do gooders' to life, representing thousands of innovative ideas that will one day change the world."

Holly Ross of NTEN says "As nonprofits, we want to do more than simply tell people what we do, we want to show the impact it makes on our communities. Nothing lets us do that like video."
